Celebrating Our Survivors: Michelle James

According to the CDC, Black women and White women get breast cancer at about the same rate, but Black women die from breast cancer at a higher incidence than White women. This is not okay.

"Breast Cancer Awareness Month means fighting for life and educating everyone about the importance of early detection. I found a lump in my breast while taking a shower and scheduled a mammogram right away. That urgency saved my life. I’m thankful for the research and technology used to treat my cancer.

Last year, I launched the podcast @cocktailsandcancer to talk about the importance of overall wellness and sisterhood because no one fights alone."
